The refuge’s interpretation is the reason to go: listen to Boo’s story, watch what he is doing and learn how the team cares for him. His activity and visibility vary through the day, so each visit can unfold differently.
For children, explain that the bear chooses where to spend his time. Curiosity, patience and listening give the visit more purpose than trying to recreate one photograph.

Use Catamount for the standard refuge itinerary.
The resort’s summer itinerary uses the Catamount chair for refuge access. Golden Eagle Express gondola sightseeing is a separate journey from the base. If you want both, decide the order from the current tour and lift schedule.
For a family choosing one main highlight, the refuge can be the focus of the day. For a combined visit, the resort suggests at least three hours before adding a longer hike or meal. Follow the operating information for the date you book.
What to bring, and what to leave behind.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and layers for changing mountain weather. The resort asks visitors not to bring food into the refuge. Enjoy a snack before the visit and follow the guide’s instructions while you are there.
If lift access, walking surfaces or other facilities affect your plans, ask the resort about the experience in advance. For a separately booked program, use its specific equipment and arrival guidance.
